Society monthly meeting recorded on 20250416 at The Briars Mount Martha Observatory.

Meeting introduction was by the President, Dr. Peter Skilton.

Vice President, Chris Kostokanellis, presented the Astrophotographic challenge for the month, and Committee member, Dr. Guido Tack, then presented the Sky for the Month.

The main topic was “Astronomical Spectroscopy: Understanding The Complex Chemistry Hidden Between The Stars”, by Prof. Martin McCoustra, Herriot-Watt University, Prof. Serena Viti, Leiden Observatory, Netherlands, and Prof. Wendy A. Brown, University of Sussex. This talk was from 8-Nov-2023 and is courtesy of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chemistry World, London.

A musical closure followed, showing “Cosmic Eye: Universe Size Comparison (2018)”. The enchanting educational video footage is courtesy of Prof. Danail Obreschkow, Astrophysicist, University of Western Australia, International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research and Director of the International Space Centre, and Scientificus YouTube channel.
