Society monthly meeting recorded on 20240821 at The Briars Mount Martha Observatory.
Meeting introduction was by the President, Dr. Peter Skilton.
Vice President, Chris Kostokanellis, then presented the Astrophotographic challenge for the month. Committee member, Dr. Guido Tack, then presented the Sky for the Month in absentia by video from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
The main topic was by Emeritus Professor Carlo Rovelli, Centre de Physique Theorique, Marseille, France, who spoke on the topic of “What Is A White Hole?” This public talk was from 27-October-2023 and is courtesy of the Royal Institution, London.
Peter Skilton then presented the following science video: “Something Strange Happens When You Follow Einstein’s Mathematics: Black Holes, White Holes, Parallel Universes” courtesy of Dr. Derek Muller, Veritasium YouTube channel.
