Society monthly meeting recorded on 20230719 at The Briars Mount Martha Observatory, following on from the annual general meeting.
Meeting introduction was by the President, Dr. Peter Skilton.
Outgoing Vice President, Mark Stephens, then presented Sky for the Month, followed by Incoming Vice President, Chris Kostokanellis, with the AstroMoPho Astronomy Photographic challenge for the month.
This was then followed by Chris, Secretary Nerida Langcake, Committee Member Guido Tack and Life Member David Rolfe, sharing the camping adventure they all had travelling to and from the South Pacific Star Party in New South Wales in May.
The main video was then shown on the topic of “Exploring Astronomy And Space Through Philately”, presented by Katrin Raynor-Evans who is an astronomy writer and communicator, including with the BBC Sky at Night, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Royal Geographical Society, and has Minor Planet 446500 named after her.
