Society monthly meeting recorded on 20240320 at The Briars Mount Martha Observatory.
Meeting introduction was by the President, Dr. Peter Skilton.
The main talk was then given by Stephen Slater, visiting UK Archive Film Producer of the award-winning Apollo 11 documentary movie on the topic of “Humanity’s First Time Around the Moon… and Our Next”. The talk featured never-before aired footage from Apollo 8, and was accompanied online by special guest, Mike Dinn, retired Deputy Director of Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station for NASA, and later Director of Tidbinbilla Deep Space Tracking Network in Canberra.
Vice President, Chris Kostokanellis, then presented the AstroMoPho Astronomy Photographic challenge for the month, followed by Committee member, Dr. Guido Tack, with the Sky for the Month.
